Auburn football fans are hoping Pike Road product Quinshon Judkins will follow his Ole Miss Rebels head coach Lane Kiffin, who is rumored to be the top name to watch in the Tigers’ head coaching search, to the Plains following the 2022 season.

Said search is now in progress with the Halloween announcement that Bryan Harsin would no longer be serving as the head football coach at Auburn University after a 3-5 start to the 2022 season and a 9-12 record overall in his 22 months in charge.

Judkins was an Auburn football target just an hour down I-85, but Harsin wasn’t in the trenches in the state recruiting like even Kiffin was, and thus didn’t land the 3-star prospect who has already amassed over 1,000 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns during his freshman season in 2022. Gus Malzahn was the first collegiate coach to offer Judkins when he was running the Tigers, but Harsin didn’t do anything to sway him toward his home team.

Carnell “Cadillac” Williams is now in charge, and he was running backs coach under Malzahn during Judkins’ initial recruitment. With Cadillac potentially reprising that role next season under Kiffin — a distinct possibility if this season ends with a win or two — Judkins can finally come home if Ole Miss sputters and Auburn surprises in the final month of the current campaign.

Auburn football fans are hopeful Quinshon Judkins can join Lane Kiffin on the Plains next season

If Lane Kiffin does decide to leave Ole Miss after being visibly upset watching the student section empty out in early season games and maxing out what he can accomplish in the Magnolia State, Tiger fans are hoping, if not expecting in some cases, that he brings Quinshon Judkins with him, vocalizing as much on Twitter on October 31:

Judkins went for 139 yards and 2 rushing touchdowns while adding a 7-yard receiving touchdown when Ole Miss played Auburn football earlier this season, so it’d be nice to not have to face him again in 2023 and beyond.
