Bryan Harsin’s short, nearly two-year tenure with Auburn football was marred by recruiting mishaps, instability on the coaching staff, and frankly, an inability to win football games against teams the Tigers beat year in and year out.

The fanbase largely gave up on supporting Harsin following the beating the Tigers took from the Penn State Nittany Lions in Jordan-Hare earlier this season, but things only got worse as time went on, with coaching candidates being suggested left and right all while Harsin still had his job.

Big news came from the Plains yesterday when it was announced that the new president of the university, Chris Roberts, fired head coach Bryan Harsin shortly before hiring former Mississippi State athletic director John Cohen to take over the same position at Auburn.

But the hits didn’t stop there. Following Harsin out the door with their own dismissals were offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Eric Kiesau, tight ends coach Brad Bedell, recruiting coordinator Darren Uscher, chief of staff Brad Larrondo, and general manager and director of scouting and development Drew Fabianich.

With four regular-season games still left to play, here’s how the remaining Auburn football staffers will move around to fill the gaps left.

Running backs coach Carnell Williams was named as the interim head coach after four years of being an assistant on the Plains, and he will replace Harsin as the leader of the team while offensive analyst Jeff McDaniels will help coach the running backs. Offensive line coach Will Friend will move up to offensive coordinator in place of Eric Kiesau, and offensive analyst Kendall Simmons will help Friend with his o-line duties.

Ike Hilliard will assist Friend with the offense as co-offensive coordinator and continue coaching the wide receivers. Joe Bernardi, an offensive line assistant, will replace Brad Bedell as the tight ends coach, while offensive analyst Mike Hartline will take over coaching the quarterbacks.

The season is not over for the Auburn football team, and hopefully things will begin looking up during the last four games of the year.

Next. Odds to be next coach: 3 current HCs lead the pack. dark
