Auburn vs. USF Prediction and Odds for November 11
Auburn basketball started the season off in spread-covering fashion as they took down George Mason 70-25 at home. The defense held firm as AU’s output didn’t come close to being matched by the Patriots’ offense.
There were undoubtedly some flaws that were revealed for the Tigers on November 7. For one, the free throw percentage (62% on 18.29 shooting) was unacceptable. That number was 73% a season ago, and every single Tiger who shot from the charity stripe gave at least one away at the foul line this past Monday.
Elsewhere, though, Auburn basketball showed out in all the key categories against a George Mason program they came in as double-digit favorites in. Wendell Green Jr. solidified his starting spot with a team-high 16 points, four rebounds, and four assists. Meanwhile, K.D. Johnson had an erratic performance offensively, still ending up with 12 but proving that a sixth-man role may be his best spot.
Chance Westry, who should be back in the lineup soon, will remain inactive on Friday night against USF. The Neville Arena-hosted matchup will be the second in a home-and-home series that began last year at the Amalie Arena in Tampa. That was a nail-biter for the Tigers despite entering as double-digit favors then as well.

USF vs. Auburn prediction
While the over/under total remains high, and the Tigers did duel down to the wire with the Bulls last year, a few conditions are different this time around.
The obvious is the change in locale — the Plains is not a typically friendly place for visitors to travel to. In fact, not one SEC opponent (or Oklahoma), let alone a non-Power conference opponent, won a game last season at the house that Bruce is building.
The less obvious changes are USF’s top two scorers from a season ago, Caleb Murphy and Javon Green, departing the program, and of the newcomers, only Keyshawn Bryant out of South Carolina looking up to the task for the Bulls against Southeast Missouri.
Auburn basketball showed a lot of promise with newcomer Johni Broome shaking off the injury rust against Alabama-Huntsville in the exhibition game and Chris Moore and Jaylin Williams offering two-way production from their earned starting spots.
Lay the 20 in the AU-USF return game.
Prediction: Auburn -20 (-115)
