With TCU’s 31-28 loss to Kansas State in the Big 12 Championship on Saturday, December 3 — this, following USC’s 47-24 loss to Utah in the Pac-12 Championship on Friday, December 2 — many sought to make the argument that Alabama deserved to be in the College Football Playoff. Dick Vitale was one of the more notable names to back the Crimson Tide, but Auburn football fans appeared in Dicky V’s mentions in droves to push back on that notion.
Never before has the College Football Playoff Committee admitted a two-loss regular season team into the final four since the CFP’s inception in 2014. Alabama would be the first, and Auburn football fans were extra motivated to make the case they didn’t deserve to be.
Here were the Tiger fan attacks on the notion from Vitale that the Crimson Tide are worthy of a College Football Playoff spot and a chance to win their fourth national championship since the CFP’s inception:
Sorry Dick but they lost two games and there are consequences. They also let Auburn run for 315 yards on them. The most by Saban ever. Not this year. They SHOULD NOT BE IN AND THEY WON'T

No they do not deserve it!! They couldnt even make it to their own conference championship game!!! College football will be better without them in it this year! Sorry just my opinion! 🤷🏼♀️

TCU is playing a team twice bc they won they're conference, which is hard to do,Bama isn't having to play somebody twice bc they couldn't beat 2 teams the first time. TCU should be in. Best team is to subjective, it should be most deserving

The team they lost to in OT is getting hammered by Georgia right now. The other team gave up over 60 points to South Carolina so yeah that makes those two loses better than Ohio State losing to a top 2 team.

Maybe they should have won more games. Just a thought. https://t.co/U5QJI9ln6O

The College Football Playoff Committee will settle this one Sunday morning, but Alabama is more than likely not going to make the cut with many sportsbooks not listing title odds for them and instead having odds for a TCU longshot championship.
