Auburn football ended up with one of their top choices in Hugh Freeze, but one of the Tigers beat writers from AL.com, Joseph Goodman, is jealous of Colorado for their hiring of ‘Prime Time’ Deion Sanders.

Goodman shared a tweet on the evening of championship Saturday in college football — one that could have drastically reshaped the College Football Playoff field in the same vein Friday night’s Pac-12 Championship did — journaling his strong feeling of jealousy for the Buffs from Boulder.

Sanders told his Jackson State Tigers at halftime of their 43-24 SWAC championship win over Southern that he was departing Mississippi’s capital for the Pac-12 — his first Power Five gig and second college football coaching job overall.

Auburn football fans call out AL.com for their hypocrisy

There’s jealousy when it comes to Auburn football not getting Deion Sanders but, there’s been a heavy dose of slander when Hugh Freeze is actually hired from AL.com. Tiger fans couldn’t help but notice the hypocrisy at play here from the Yellowhammer State media giant.

For all we know, there could have been a similar exposé for ‘Prime Time’ upon being hired to take his act to the Plains from AL.com. But the idea of him being on the table for the Tigers head coaching job — which was initially brought up months ago but died down as Lane Kiffin, another option with a problematic, became the lead candidate — never garnered the outrage Freeze’s did.

Auburn football fans took to Twitter to point out the double-standard for Sanders and Freeze:

Freeze’s recent Twitter DM controversy could very well be the primary issue at play when it came to Tiger fans being comfortable with the safety of women on AU’s campus, but Sanders’ problematic past is something that never had a media light shone on it.
