Newly implemented Auburn defensive coordinator Ron Roberts is a football guy from his days coaching high school, Division II, and FCS football across Tennessee, Texas, Mississippi, and Louisiana, but he’s proving to Tiger fans that he is also an Auburn football guy — taking part in one of the fanbase’s most notorious Twitter rituals.

Twituals, if you will.

On December 14, three days after it was announced that he’d be replacing Jeff Schmedding as DC and that former Tulsa head coach Philip Montgomery would be the new offensive coordinator, Roberts revealed his new Twitter avatar. And it had all the deep-fried goodness you can possibly desire:

Auburn football fans love Ron Roberts

In not exactly shocking news, Auburn football fans rallied around Ron Roberts following his deep-fried photo-shop, declaring their love for the new Tigers defensive coordinator:

Sure, games aren’t won on social media, but momentum could be built there. Roberts is playing ball with Auburn Twitter, which besides recruiting, is all he could do to win over the favor of fans.

Mission accomplished.
