Auburn football: JUCO OT target decommits from Ole Miss
With head coach Hugh Freeze leading the charge, the Auburn football program is heading towards an extremely successful early signing period. Freeze managed to turn things around for the Tigers in fast fashion, adding three commits to the recruiting class of 2023 this past weekend, alone.
A lot of the targets left on the board for Auburn football intend to sign later this week on the first day of the early signing period, December 21, and there are a lot of close recruiting battles that could be won this Wednesday. This time of year, anything can change.
One of Auburn football’s priority targets is offensive lineman Izavion Miller. Planning to transfer to another program from Southwest Mississippi Community College, Miller was originally committed to the Ole Miss Rebels. However, once former Ole Miss offensive line coach Jake Thornton took the same job with Auburn football, the Tigers became interested in Miller.
The offensive tackle spent this past weekend on the Plains, according to Jeffrey Lee of Auburn Live, and got to spend a lot of one-on-one time with Hugh Freeze, and spent time catching up with Coach Thornton.
Following his weekend on Auburn’s campus, Miller made it official and decommitted from Ole Miss, indicating that his top two programs are Mississippi State and Auburn.
With a plan to sign with his chosen program on Wednesday, Miller noted that he may choose to announce his decision earlier in the week, which would put the offensive tackle officially on commitment watch. Though Mississippi State may win the proximity battle, having Jake Thornton on staff gives the Tigers a good chance to land the JUCO offensive lineman.
