It is Early National Signing Day, and Hugh Freeze had his work cut out for him with a 2023 recruiting class ranked in the low 50s on all sites. Fast forward three weeks, and that is no more. Two HUGE flips have sprung Auburn football all the way up to 16th in the country.

Keldric Faulk, a 4-star edge rusher from Highland Home HS, was originally committed to Florida State, but flipped on signing day to Auburn.

Not long after, 4-star cornerback Kayin Lee flipped his commitment from Ohio State to Auburn. Lee, a product of Cedar Grove, GA, adds on to Sylvester Smith as the second DB recruit to flip to Auburn football this week.

Auburn football DL Keldric Faulk

Faulk, whose mother wanted him to come to Auburn, was a very solid commit to Florida State before making a last-minute visit to the Plains before signing day. He became the highest rated commit in the class as soon as he flipped. Rated at nearly 96, he is a top 10 defensive lineman and a top 100 overall players.

If Keldric Faulk was the biggest get of Auburn’s early signing day, Kayin Lee was a close second. Any time you can outright steal a recruit from Ohio State, you do it. And Hugh Freeze did just that. Once he signs, he will be the 3rd highest rated recruit in the class, just behind Faulk and Derron Reed.

Conclusion

Simply put, Hugh Freeze is him.

Freeze has fixed Auburn’s talent pool already, even if some analysts want to dole out the credit elsewhere. It may not be readily apparent, but Auburn isn’t going to be left behind in recruiting anymore.
