Auburn football: Bo Nix’s brother set to join him at Oregon
The adopted brother of former Auburn football quarterback Bo Nix will be joining the current Oregon signal-caller in Eugene by way of the transfer portal.
Tez Johnson, who played three seasons at Troy and amassed 141 receptions for 1,809 yards and eight touchdowns, will have two seasons of eligibility left.
After a career year for Nix under his freshman year Auburn football offensive coordinator, Kenny Dillingham in 2022, Nix is set to return for his fifth collegiate season in 2022. While Dillingham is now the head coach at Arizona State, Nix now has an even more familiar face in Johnson. Johnson caught passes for Nix when the two played at Pinson Valley.
Where former Auburn football quarterback Bo Nix’s other brother is now
The Nix family is filled with football stars at the Division I level, with former Auburn football quarterback Bo Nix an early Heisman favorite for 2023 and his adopted brother Tez Johnson now giving him a receiver he knows better than just about anyone.
There is another Nix entry in the FBS: Caleb Nix, a Central product who is now a walk-on at Clemson. Caleb was a quarterback during his days in Phenix City but is now a safety, and he found the field during the Tigers’ 48-20 beatdown of Louisiana Tech back on September 17.
At Central, Caleb played for father Patrick Nix, a former Auburn football quarterback during the mid-1990s. He earned earned all-state honors and All-Area Player of the Year in helping the Red Devils to a 13-1 record and Class 7A state title game berth as a senior and was named Opelika-Auburn News Offensive Player of the Year after leading Class 7A in passing yards, total yards, and total touchdowns in 2021.
Evidently, Patrick Nix has done plenty to get all of his sons into a position to succeed in college football.
