Auburn vs. Arkansas Prediction and Odds for January 7
Auburn basketball looks to bounce back from an unimpressive loss to the Georgia Bulldogs in Athens this past Wednesday when they host the Arkansas Razorbacks at the Neville Arena on Saturday, January 7 in the Tigers’ third SEC conference game of the season.
While still undefeated at home, AU has now faltered three times on the road as favorites in 2022-23. Georgia was the lowest quality loss of the bunch, and the fashion in which they lost is what should inspire worry for Tiger fans.
Auburn shot an abysmal 21.4% from beyond the arc in 28 attempts in Athens to continue what has been a troubling trend of offensive futility. Besides the easy points Johni Broome is providing in the post, the Tigers are struggling to get anything going on the perimeter. K.D. Johnson’s struggles have been particularly glaring, leading to extended minutes for Lior Berman. Berman, unfortunately, gives up quite a bit defensively, though.
There are backcourt issues for AU right now as Chance Westry — a combo guard who looked poised to step up for the Tigers during his freshman season — continues to recover from a knee injury he had surgery on right before the season.
With a sizable Hogs backcourt coming to the Plains, Wendell Green Jr., Zep Jasper, Tre Donaldson, and K.D. Johnson will need to have their best defensive night of the season while also making some of their pull-up attempts — particularly Green, who has not shot above 33% from the field since the Tigers defeated Colgate on December 2.
Will it be enough to upset a ranked Arkansas? Or is Auburn basketball at risk of falling out of the top 25 altogether? Fly War Eagle has your odds and a prediction for the ESPN-televised matchup (All lines courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook):

Arkansas vs. Auburn Prediction
The sportsbooks are expecting a close one at the Neville Arena, but they are leaning slightly towards the Arkansas spread. While the Razorbacks did lose to LSU on the road, those Tigers had more momentum than Auburn has.
Expect a high-scoring affair that could go either way on Saturday night.
Prediction: 141u (-110)
