Auburn vs. Ole Miss Prediction and Odds for January 10
Auburn basketball changed the momentum of the 2022-23 season when they knocked off a No. 13-ranked Arkansas at the Neville Arena this past Saturday — and they will look to continue building momentum during SEC play on Tuesday, January 10, when they take on the Ole Miss Rebels in Oxford.
The Tigers got a much-needed bounce-back game for Wendell Green Jr. this past Saturday against Arkansas, with the point guard shooting 62.5% overall, his most efficient performance since early December. AU also got Allen Flanigan’s best effort of the season, an 18-point, eight-rebound performance against his home state’s premiere program.
The frontcourt was solid, if unspectacular, against Arkansas in the spread-covering victory with Johni Broome and Jaylin Williams combining for 29 points. Those two will be essential against an Ole Miss team that isn’t overly strong on the boards. The Rebels’ top rebounder, Myles Burns, averages under seven per game. Only one other player (Jaemyn Brakefield) averages over five.
While the Auburn basketball frontcourt will be important, so too will the perimeter defense. Brakefield (38.9%) and Amaree Abram (38.5%) are the team’s best 3-point shooters, and stopping them from getting hot from behind the arc will be essential. Tre Donaldson, who has been earning minutes for the Tigers backcourt, should have his number called upon should the worst-case scenario occur.
Does AU cover a small spread on the road after their dud in Athens against Georgia last week? Or does Ole Miss continue to expose the Tigers on the road on Tuesday night? Fly War Eagle has your odds and a prediction for the ESPNU-televised matchup (All lines courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook):

Ole Miss vs. Auburn Prediction
Ole Miss has been on a tailspin right now, having dropped their last four games — with one of those losses being against North Alabama. That doesn’t mean they have no shot at upsetting Auburn, but it likely means the Tigers will need an off-night offensively to lose.
That makes this game an under lean for this writer.
Prediction: 133u (-110)
