It’s National Signing Day in the world of college football, and although the Auburn football program isn’t expecting much from the class of 2023, most of which was locked down during the early signing period, it is possible it will be an action-packed day for the future classes.

4-star cornerback Jayden Lewis, a member of the 2024 class, has announced that he will make his commitment decision today, and many expect that he will commit to head coach Hugh Freeze and the Tigers. But Auburn also locked down their first commit in the recruiting class of 2025.

From Opelika, just minutes down the road from the Plains, 4-star defensive lineman Malik Autry has announced he is committed to Auburn football.

At 6-foot-6 and 280 pounds as a 10th grader at Opelika High, Autry is a massive (pun intended!) pickup for the Tigers and a great way to start of the class of 2025. The DL chose the Tigers over several schools including Georgia, LSU, and Michigan.

Autry earned his offer from the Tigers just last weekend after visiting the Plains for Junior Day. His offer game from several staffers, including defensive line coach Jeremy Garrett, who Autry got to know during the recruiting event. According to the defensive lineman, Auburn is home, and it’s a dream come true to get to play college ball on the Plains, per Auburn Live:

"“Auburn is home,” Autry told Auburn Live. “My parents have been by my side since I was a baby. I’ve always had their support. Knowing I can go to a school that is right down the road is mind blowing. It’s an opportunity I don’t know how anyone could pass up.”"

With several high school seasons left, Autry still has the opportunity to get bigger and better, and could end up playing anywhere along the Tigers’ defensive line.

Next. 4-star RB Jeremiah Cobb signing today. dark
