Today is National Signing Day in the world of college football, and although the Auburn football program is not expecting much action from the recruiting class of 2023, the Tigers could end up with their second commit in the recruiting class of 2024.

4-star cornerback Jayden Lewis announced on his personal Twitter page that he would be making his official announcement on Wednesday, February 1. Lewis is ranked as the #176 overall prospect and the #13 cornerback in the recruiting class of 2024. He is the #12 recruit out of the state of Alabama, and plays high school ball at Anniston.

Lewis is approaching 20 offers from schools including Penn State, Colorado, Florida State, and Tennessee, among others. Though it is relatively early in the recruitment of the class of 2024, it seems that Lewis knows where he wants to play college football in a couple of years.

According to the On3 Database, Lewis has taken visits to eight different schools, all of which are in the SEC. Auburn football has earned the most visits from the cornerback at five, and he was most recently on campus for Hugh Freeze’s first big recruiting event on the Plains, Junior Day.

Auburn Live’s Keith Niebuhr reports that Lewis had the opportunity to speak with all of the Tigers’ secondary coaches, and he referred to the visit as everything and more than he expected. For Lewis, it’s the family atmosphere that keeps bringing him back to Auburn:

"“Auburn is a family feel for me,” he said. “I love the campus. I love the people. The main thing is going somewhere I’m wanted and not just where I want to go. And Auburn definitely wants me.”"

Though a specific time has not been announced, we will know by the end of the day where the 4-star cornerback intends to play college football.
