Since Hugh Freeze became the head coach of the Auburn football team, the Tigers have experienced some massive recruiting wins. Freeze pulled multiple players away from other programs in the days leading up to the early signing period, culminating in the flip of 5-star Keldric Faulk away from Florida State.

It doesn’t seem like those wins are going to stop any time soon. On Friday afternoon, the Tigers secured their third commit and arguably their top target in the recruiting class of 2024. 4-star quarterback Walker White, out of Little Rock, Arkansas, chose Auburn football over Clemson and Baylor.

White’s recruitment was a bit all over the place, with Ole Miss considered to be an early leader before the interest shifted to Dabo Swinney and the Clemson Tigers. For many, it was a surprise that White chose Auburn over Clemson.

With nearly a full calendar year to go before White will have the opportunity to officially sign with Auburn football, how solid is the quarterback’s pledge to the Tigers? After White announced his commitment, he went on and on about his love for the program and the campus, in addition to his respect for and bond with Hugh Freeze.

The QB also said that he plans to immediately start recruiting other athletes to join him on the Plains, and rattled off an impressive list of recruits he intends to go after for the Tigers. According to Keith Niebuhr of Auburn Live, White confirmed that he does not plan to visit any other programs. He has maintained consistent contact with multiple Auburn staffers, including Freeze and offensive coordinator Phillip Montgomery.

Although anything can happen until the pen is put to paper in today’s world of recruiting, it seems pretty certain that Walker White will take on the world of college football as an Auburn Tiger.
