Auburn football lands in Top 10 for 2024 LB Zavier Hamilton
The Auburn football coaching staff is keeping things rolling during the month of February, managing recruitment and preparing for the start of spring practice on the 27th. Last week, a 3-star linebacker in the recruiting class of 2024 placed the Auburn football program in his Top 10.
Zavier Hamilton is ranked as the #372 overall prospect and the #29 linebacker in the recruiting class of 2024, and is the #58 recruit out of the state of Florida.
Hamilton visited the Plains for the Tigers’ recent Junior Day, and left feeling very excited about the program, per Auburn Undercover. He made prior visits to Auburn’s campus, but the January visit gave him the opportunity to meet the Tigers’ new linebackers coach, Josh Aldridge:
"“It seems more personable,” Hamilton said, “Like, every person here seemed more in-tune to every person here so I would say that was the biggest change. He’s (Aldridge) a great guy. He really tries to understand his players and his kids and he treats them as if they’re one of his own children. That’s what I really like about him.”"
Going up against Auburn football for the linebacker will be Georgia, Notre Dame, UCF, Kansas, Michigan State, Arkansas, LSU, South Carolina, and Florida State. Clearly Hamilton, who is from Navarre, FL, feels a pull from the SEC with half of his top choices being from the conference.
According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Tigers are currently the favorite to land Hamilton, followed by Notre Dame. The linebacker’s connections to the Plains will likely work in the Tigers’ favor, per On3:
"“I love Auburn,” Hamilton told On3. “I love this place. My family are big Auburn fans. My step-brother is the biggest Auburn fan you could possibly meet. Auburn is definitely one of my top picks.”"
Zavier Hamilton plans to commit soon, tentatively in April or May.
