Spring break is officially over for the Auburn football team, and today marks the fourth spring practice session for the Hugh Freeze-led Tigers. While spring practice is a vital part of getting the team ready for the season, it is also an important recruiting tool for the upcoming class.

This week, the Tigers are expected to host a variety of recruits, with some traveling across the country to visit the Plains and get a look at the staff’s coaching style, the facilities, and hear from the current players.

The No. 1 recruit out of the state of Mississippi is on today’s lineup of spring practice visitors. 4-star Kamarion Franklin, from Lake Comorant, MS, is ranked as the #26 overall prospect and the #5 defensive lineman in the recruiting class of 2024.

In the 2022 season, Frankling recorded 93 tackles, 19 sacks, and one fumble recovery for a touchdown, while the year before he recorded 71 tackles, 11 sacks, one forced fumble, and four interceptions.

He has over 30 offers, but has spent most of his time visiting SEC schools, including Tennessee, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Mississippi State, and Alabama. His most recent visits include Florida State (this past weekend), Arkansas (late January), and Ole Miss (mid-January), and according to his recruiting profile on On3, he already has an unofficial visit to Texas A&M lined up for April 1.

Though this will be his first trip to the Plains, the Auburn football coaching staff are making Franklin a high priority in the class of 2024, and with stats like the ones put up this past season it’s no surprise that he is wanted by schools all over the country. With a positive spring practice visit today, the Tigers could become a real contender to land the No. 1 recruit out of the state of Mississippi.
