Auburn football lands in 3-star Mississippi OT’s top 5
The Auburn football program is continuing to find success on the recruiting trail for the 2024 class. Although it’s considered early for prospects to be committing to their future schools, the Tigers have already secured four commits in QB Walker White, RB J’Marion Burnette, and CBs A’Mon Lane and Jayden Lewis.
Both White and Burnette have taken on roles as recruiters, actively campaigning for other members of their recruiting class to take a chance on the Auburn football program, and it certainly helps to have such major positions covered when recruiting other players.
While it is early, lots of recruits are narrowing down their options to their top schools in anticipation of the summer, when they will likely be taking official visits to those programs. One of the recent prospects to narrow down his list is 3-star offensive tackle Isaiah Autry. He included Auburn football alongside several other big programs: Alabama, Florida State, Oklahoma, and Ole Miss.
Out of Tupelo, Autry is ranked as the #34 offensive tackle in the recruiting class of 2024 and is the #17 player out of the state of Mississippi. The OT has taken seven total visits to in-state Ole Miss, with another one coming up this weekend, and the Rebs seem to be leading his recruitment at the moment though the Tigers are not far behind.
Autry was on the Plains this weekend for A-Day, and with a strong need for offensive lineman in upcoming classes for the continuous rebuild of the O-Line, there’s certainly a case for Autry to consider the Tigers. Should head coach Hugh Freeze and his staff continue to push hard, it’s possible that Autry could be pulled away from his in-state choice of Ole Miss.
