The Auburn football coaching staff is taking an ambitious approach to recruiting in the class of 2024. Many of the Tigers top targets are already committed to other schools and are flip candidates for Hugh Freeze, who has already shown that he is capable of flipping recruits.

Class of 2023 DL Keldric Faulk was committed to Florida State and flipped on signing day to join Auburn football, and recent 2024 commit Martavious Collins was committed to Alabama in January before the new Auburn staff made a push for him to become a Tiger.

Now, one of the biggest targets in the class of 2024 is definitely considering flipping from Alabama to Auburn. 5-star wide receiver Perry Thompson, from Foley, AL, has confirmed with Auburn Live that he will take an official visit to the Plains.

Thompson is ranked as the #14 overall prospect and the #5 wide receiver in the recruiting class of 2024 and is the #2 player out of the state of Alabama. He was name dropped by 2024 QB Walker White during his Auburn commitment speech as a prospect that he wanted to join ranks with at Auburn, and since Freeze and his staff took over has shown definite interest in the Tigers.

He has visited campus four times already this year, including two visits within a week of each other during spring practice. He also spent time on the Plains for the spring A-Day game earlier this month.

So far, the only other school that Thompson has pledge to officially visit is Alabama, where he remains committed. But the Tigers could work their way in through an OV and could end up in a position to flip the talented in-state receiver ahead of early signing day in December.

Other candidates that the Tigers are trying to flip include Sterling Dixon (Alabama) and Demarcus Riddick (Georgia).
