Auburn WR transfer joining Deion Sanders in Colorado

Former Auburn football wide receiver Shedrick Jackson is joining Deion Sanders in Colorado — this coming after already committing to Cincinnati and the Bearcats’ new head coach Scott Satterfield ahead of UC’s first season in the Big 12.

According to AL.com’s Tom Green, Dawson leaves the Plains having supposedly not done enough to earn the role he desired.

“(Dawson) spent this spring competing for a role in Auburn’s wide receiver room, and he showed an ability to stretch the field with some explosive plays — including the Tigers’ longest play from scrimmage on A-Day, a 39-yard reception up the seam on a pass from Robby Ashford,” Green prefaced before saying, “That wasn’t enough, though, as he chose to transfer a week later.”

With the acquisition of “Prime Time” during the offseason following a four-year stretch with just 10 wins for the Buffaloes, Colorado braced for change. As Green relays, though, the changes under Sanders have been “remarkable” — and not in a good way in many cases.

“Dawson joins a Colorado program that is undergoing a remarkable roster rebuild this offseason, as the Buffaloes had 42 players depart the program since the start of the post-spring transfer window, while more than 50 have left the program since Sanders took over as head coach,” Green wrote.

Sanders addressed the massive roster overhaul recently on The Pat McAfee Show, telling the media and the fans that they are simply unaware of who Colorado plans on bringing into the program.

“We already know what we got coming in,” Sanders said (h/t Saturday Out West). “Y’all just don’t know what we got coming. They probably at the airport right now. When we release the list of guys that we already got coming in then everybody is going to say, ‘Ok, now I see what he’s doing.'”
