Former Auburn football head coach Bryan Harsin, who was fired by the program on October 31 — a fitting day considering his tenure will give many Tiger fans the spooks for years –, revealed to ESPN’s Chris Low that his family endured a “s*****” exit from the Plains.

“I wasn’t going to let (the firing) eat at me, no matter how s—ty some of the things were that my family had to endure,” Harsin told Low. “There were things we didn’t like. There were things that were disappointing, on and off the field. There were things that I wish I would have done better, and there were things where we got a chance to see some of the worst in people.”

Eight months before Harsin’s firing, there was an infamous inquiry launched into his conduct. Nasty rumors surrounding infidelity on the Boise native’s end were shared, and ultimately, the inquiry didn’t lead to his ouster. Bad football did. Following his firing, Harsin’s daughter Dayn shared an Instagram story sporting Crimson Tide gear. There’s a trail of breadcrumbs confirming Harsin’s exit was as bad on his end as it was for many Tiger fans — though a $15 million buyout presumably makes things easier to stomach out in Idaho.

Bryan Harsin Auburn football tenure will produce soundbites for years

This was the first interview Harsin had with any major outlet since his Auburn football tenure, and the headline couldn’t possibly infuriate Tiger fans more: “Bryan Harsin ‘thriving’ away from football after rocky tenure at Auburn.”

Could it get more stomach-churning than the thought of the ex-coach flexing on the Plains following a tenure in which he came in, collected copious amounts of money, and did little to fortify the team’s recruiting depths at any point of his employment?

Probably not. Strap in, Tiger fans, because Harsin’s time coaching will be producing soundbites for years to come and from every angle.
