The Auburn football program is racking up official visitors that will head to campus in the summer months to get a closer look at the program. From in-state prospects to recruits from around the country, plenty of high school athletes will be journeying to the Plains for official visits.

One of those visitors will be 4-star defensive lineman LJ McCray, who is ranked as the #87 overall prospect and the #14 DL in the recruiting class of 2024. From Daytona Beach, FL, McCray is ranked as the #17 recruit out of the Sunshine State. He was last on campus on April 5 to watch a spring practice, and will officially visit the Plains on June 12.

McCray named Auburn football in his Top 11 earlier this month alongside Georgia, Alabama, Florida State, Florida, Clemson, Miami, Georgia Tech, Penn State, Tennessee, and LSU.

The defensive lineman also has several other official visits planned and will head to Florida on June 2, Miami on June 9, Georgia on June 16, and Florida State on October 7. According to Swamp 247, McCray noted that he is being recruited hard by many schools but there are a few that stand out already:

"“All the Florida schools, Georgia, Auburn, Alabama,” McCray, asked which schools are communicating with him the most, said. “That’s probably the most standout-ish schools.”"

McCray’s On3 Sports recruiting profile indicates that in-state school Florida currently has the lead in the DL’s recruitment, with Florida State following closely behind and Auburn football currently in third place. However, an official visit to the Plains could be enough to sway McCray and move the Tigers up in the standings. Though it will be tough to pull the defensive lineman away from his home state, Hugh Freeze and Auburn football are making all the right moves.
