The first weekend of June visits has flown by, and the Auburn football program is gearing up to host more highly ranked recruits over the next couple of months. Some of the recruits who have already visited this month include Jamonta Waller, TJ Lindsey, and Jaylen Mbakwe.

Now it has been confirmed that the No. 1 inside offensive lineman will officially visit the Plains this summer. DeAndre Carter, from all the way out west in Santa Ana, CA, is ranked as the #57 overall prospect and the #1 IOL in the recruiting class of 2024, and he is the #7 recruit out of the state of California.

Carter has nearly 30 offers and is being pursued by a number of top schools around the country, including Georgia, Alabama, Oregon, Michigan, and more. According to his On3 Recruiting Profile, Carter’s top interests appear to be in USC, Michigan State, and Auburn football, which are also the three programs to which he has set official visits this month.

The IOL has been a long-time starter for his high school, Mater Dei, stepping up even as a freshman. Earlier this year he was selected to play in the 2024 Polynesian Bowl.

Carter will not be the only offensive lineman visiting campus the weekend of June 16. He will be joined by Preston Taumua (another 2024 Polynesian Bowl pick), Jameson Riggs, and Casey Poe, all of whom are major OL targets for the coaching staff.

For the next few recruiting classes, building up the group of linemen will be a high priority for head coach Hugh Freeze, especially with the lack of OL recruiting from the past few years and the incoming transfers that are expected to start along the line this season.
