Home is where the heart is for Warner Robins OL Kahlil House, and because the Plains is a little more than a two-hour drive from the 80,000-person central Georgia city, the 86,000-seat Jordan-Hare Stadium sounds like a good place to play for the Auburn football Class of 2024 target. Auburn Rivals’ Caleb Jones believes that AU’s proximity to House’s current, well, house, could entice the 3-star guard to choose Auburn as his home away from home.

“House likes how close Auburn is to his hometown, which is another benefit and reason why it jumped into his top programs,” Jones wrote.

As House told FanNation’s director of recruiting, Brooks Austin, recruiting is a new thing for him after he didn’t play his freshman season.

“All of this recruiting stuff is very new to me if I am being honest because last year I only played my Sophomore year and my Junior year going into my Senior year, but I did not play my freshman year and was not recruited so visiting schools and all of that is very new to me and with my family, they are not really big into sports,” House said (h/t All Yellow Jackets).

Georgia Tech is already out ahead in recruitment for Auburn football 2024 OL target

House told FanNation that he has already had several conversations with Yellow Jackets offensive line coach Geep Wade while implying that the Georgia Tech coaching staff has done a good job of flipping him from lukewarm to very interested.

“(Georgia Tech and I’ve) been in talks a lot,” House said. “Coach Wade was just down here and talked to me and he has been coming ever since January to come see us and stuff and talk to me and it is really exciting, he really wants me to come there and it has been a blessing because at first, I did not think this is where I would be.”

Based on House’s tone, it sounds as though he’s cozying up to the idea of playing in Atlanta. Considering it’s a good half-hour drive less to get there and it’s in his homestate, House’s desires could well be met by Georgia Tech — including getting immediate playing time upon arriving on campus.

To offer a word on behalf of Auburn, though, the traffic makes the trip into Atlanta far more of a hassle than riding south on I85 toward Montgomery.
