The Auburn football coaching staff is staying busy on the recruiting trail this month, adding three commitments to the recruiting class of 2024 and seeing two more 2024 commits—A’Mon Lane and J’Marion Burnette— shut down their recruitment.

The momentum is on the rise for the Tigers, and the prospects can feel it. Last week, 4-star ATH Jalewis Solomon was on the Plains for a 7-on-7 competition, and knew after his experience that he wanted to return to campus for a visit. Earlier this week, he made good on those plans and arrived in Auburn for an unofficial visit.

Solomon is ranked as the #200 prospect and the #16 ATH in the recruiting class of 2024. From Ellaville, GA, he is the #28 recruit out of the Peach State. His brother, defensive lineman Zykevious Walker, already plays for Auburn.

While this week’s trip to the Plains was not Solomon’s first, it was his mother’s visit, which was meaningful for both the ATH and head coach Hugh Freeze, per Auburn Rivals:

"“[Freeze] was just showing us how big of a priority I am to this program and that he really needs me to lock in with them,” Solomon said. “He needs me. He was telling my mom how he loves me here and loves her here.”"

Though Solomon is listed as an ATH and has experience on both sides of the ball, he is being recruited by the Tigers primarily as a defensive back. He got the chance to sit down with his would be position coach, secondary coach Wesley McGriff, and discuss his fit within the Tigers’ defense.

The athlete’s decision will likely come in the fall months, but he will narrow down his recruitment soon and fully expects Auburn football to be in his top 5 programs, which he credits to Coach McGriff’s energy and the Tigers making him a priority.
