The Auburn basketball program has one commit in the recruiting class of 2024 and is still on the hunt for talented prospects to complete the class. 5-star guard Tahaad Pettiford is locked in with the Tigers, but there is still room for more commits on the roster.

4-star Cam Scott is ranked as the #25 overall player and the #5 shooting guard in the recruiting class of 2024. From Lexington, SC, Scott is ranked as the #1 prospect out of his state. As one would guess, his recruitment is far from over.

Scott has taken several official visits already, including trips to see Texas, South Carolina, and Auburn basketball, and is already planning to take more. He has a trip scheduled to Ole Miss and is working on visits to Alabama and Southern Cal, as well. Clearly there is a high level of competition to earn Scott’s commitment.

However, the shooting guard insisted that the first three schools are heavily involved in his recruitment and that he has pondered revisiting them. He was especially high on the relationships that he has been working to build on the Plains, per Auburn Wire:

"“Since the visit, I’ve been able to build my connection with the players. I already had a connection with the coaches and Coach (Bruce) Pearl when I went on the visit. Now I’m just building with some of the guys who are already there.”"

Scott noted that he does not plan to narrow his recruitment down to a top schools list before choosing a program, but that he would like to have his decision made by the time his senior season starts. He emphasized that player development is very important to him, and that he wants to go to a school that will allow him to showcase his talent and improve as a player.
