Auburn football Class of 2024 wideout target Cameron Coleman was given hyperbolic praise by Auburn Daily’s Andrew Stefaniak — who said that the Central High School star could be one of the all-time receiver-recruits the Plains has ever seen.

“It is clear Auburn has a lead for one of the best wide receivers in the 2024 class, which would be a massive get for Auburn,” Stefaniak prefaced before saying, “Coleman would be one of if not the best receiver commits in Auburn football history. Coach Freeze has landed talented receivers during his time as a head coach in players like DK Metcalf and AJ Brown, so he has done this before. I genuinely believe Coach Freeze can get this done and land Coleman which would set Auburn Twitter on fire.”

Coleman received a crystal ball to AU from On3 National Recruiting Analyst Sam Spiegelman. Baker’s Bryce Cain is the only current signed recruit for the 2024 class. Auburn football tight end coach Ben Aigamaua brought on Calhoun (GA) product Martavious Collins elsewhere as an offensive skill position passing game weapon for Walker White.

Auburn football could land a higher-rated receiver than Cameron Coleman

If Coleman has the potential to be the best receiver the Tigers have ever seen, then so does fellow Class of 2024 receiver flip target and current Alabama commit Perry Thomspon. The Foley, Alabama product is ranked three spots ahead of Coleman overall at No. 17 and is one spot ahead of Coleman in the receiver rankings at No. 4.

Hugh Freeze could make serious inroads in the state of Alabama by landing both star receivers, and it could potentially happen before his Auburn team even takes the field for the first time this fall. As the college football world waits for Nick Saban to walk off into the sunset and vacate the Crimson Tide head coaching job in Tuscaloosa, the orange and blue side of the Iron Bowl rivalry isn’t waiting to claim supremacy on the recruiting trail.
