This month could end up being huge for Auburn football recruiting. Multiple top targets are scheduled to announce their commitments in the coming days, and the month will culminate in Big Cat Weekend, which usually produces a few recruiting surprises.

Today, 3-star safety Rydarrius Morgan will be making his official decision, which he announced on his personal Twitter yesterday. The safety is from Phenix City, AL, which is just down the road from Auburn, and is the home of another of the Tigers’ high priority targets—5-star wide receiver Cam Coleman.

Morgan is ranked as the #564 overall prospect and the #55 safety in the recruiting class of 2024. He is the #28 recruit out of the state of Alabama, and the Tigers are hoping to keep him home.

Though the Tigers are hoping to establish a pipeline from Central High School to the Plains, it seems that Florida State is the leader in Morgan’s recruitment. He released a Top 6 schools last month, which included Cincinnati, Miami, Florida State, Mississippi State, Alabama, and Auburn football.

He officially visited Florida State, Cincinnati, and Miami, and he was supposed to officially visit the Plains though he was not ultimately able to make the trip. Both the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine and the 247 Sports Crystal Ball indicate that Morgan’s choice tonight will be Florida State.

Auburn football currently has eight commits in the recruiting class of 2024 but is expecting to add several more this month. Most recently, the Tigers added their second most highly ranked recruit in 4-star linebacker Joseph Phillips. Should Morgan choose Auburn, he would be the second safety to do so, and would join ranks with 4-star Kensley Faustin, who also committed recently.

Tune in to Morgan’s instagram, @dbu_.red, tonight at 6:30 p.m. central time to catch his commitment.
