COMMITTING TODAY: Auburn football CB target Jalyn Crawford

It’s a big day for one of the Auburn football program’s top recruiting targets. 4-star cornerback Jalyn Crawford, a native of Lilburn, GA, will make his official commitment decision today.

Crawford is ranked as the #159 overall prospect and the #15 cornerback in the recruiting class of 2024. He is the #21 recruit out of the Peach State.

The cornerback will be choosing between his top three schools, which include LSU, Florida, and Auburn football. He officially visited Florida on June 2, Auburn on June 9, and LSU on June 16.

Crawford is close with several current Auburn football players, and believes he has a good idea of how things work on the Plains. What stood out to him after his official visit was the fact that there was such a strong family environment within the program, and he was able to work on building strong relationships with the coaching staff and other players, per Auburn Live:

"“It was a great experience,” Crawford told On3. “We did a lot of hanging with the coaches and talking with them and building that player-coach relationship. That’s what you want during this process. You never know what can happen. A coach can leave but you can have a good relationship with the GA or the next man up and you can get along well and before long he can be the main coach… That’s what stood out. How we bonded, me and the coaches. Me coach (Hugh) Freeze and everybody. Everyone was happy.”"

He will make his official announcement at 2:30 p.m. central time this afternoon. Should Crawford commit to the Tigers, he would be the eleventh addition to Auburn’s recruiting class of 2024, and the third cornerback commit.
