Auburn football head coach Hugh Freeze clapped back at a Twitter account with the “Mullet A” — presumably marking it as an Alabama fan — who made fun of the Tigers’ new leading locker room voice for pronouncing his faith.

“Well, (Coach Hugh Freeze) is set to speak at Media Days today — you should expect to hear a lot about his ‘Lord and savior Jesus Christ,'” the tweeter wrote accompanied by two rolling eyes emojis.
“I certainly am very thankful for Him and His grace and mercy!! He sustains me daily. Hope you know Him also,” Freeze prefaced before saying, “Have a great day.”
Auburn football head coach Hugh Freeze once compared his Ole Miss investigation to Jesus Christ’s crucifixion
Back when Freeze was being investigated by Ole Miss for a scandal that would eventually cost him his job, the Oxford, Mississippi native once made an allusion to Jesus Christ’s death while speaking to recruits about the situation.
“Well, Coach Freeze told me when you’re that big and out there with faith in Christ, he’s like, ‘What do you expect? Jesus got nailed to the cross,'” explained former Arkansas and SMU cornerback Chevin Calloway during his Ole Miss recruitment (h/t SB Nation). “So, he was just telling me sometimes things like that happen, but that’s never going to change how he’s going to treat his players and take care of them.”
Hugh Freeze: Jesus is the only one I’ve ever met that can handle my junk
When Freeze was first introduced as the head coach of Liberty in December 2018, he had one of the all-time great lines for meme purposes and relative to what had happened that caused him to say it.
What’d he say, you may ask? Only Jesus can handle his junk.
“The son of God, Jesus Christ, he is the only one I’ve ever met who can handle my junk,” Freeze said (h/t Deadspin). “If you know somebody else that can do that, I’d love to meet him.”
Perhaps that’s true, but evidently, Freeze himself is ready to handle any junk sent his way by Alabama fans or anyone else for that matter.
