Auburn football career passing leader No. 1: Stan White

  • 8,016 passing yards
  • 40 passing touchdowns
  • 52 interceptions

Campbell replaced Stan White, the Tigers’ top passer by yardage in the history of the program, in the booth on January 23, 2023. White, in addition to being the school’s all-time yardage leader through the air, was a legendary announcer as Andy Burcham of the Auburn Sports Network recalled during White’s retirement.

“Stan has given the last 22 years of his life, in part, to Auburn football and the Auburn Sports Network,” Burcham said in a statement (h/t AL.com). “He has become one of the top analysts, not only in the SEC, but in the country. I thank Stan for his outstanding work and his friendship. He will be missed with our crew and the Auburn Family. We are excited about the next chapter in Jason Campbell’s radio career. He was the overwhelming choice to replace Stan in the booth.”

White, a starter all four years on the Plains, saw it all. He saw a pair of five-win seasons sandwiched between eight and 11 wins at the front and tail ends of his career and threw for 1,700 yards in each of those campaigns. The last QB of the Dye era and the first under Bowden, White won’t have his AU record broken for a long, long time.
