Auburn football career passing leader No. 9: Reggie Slack

  • 4,697 passing yards
  • 23 passing touchdowns
  • 23 interceptions

While just a backup during his underclassmen years, Reggie Slack was part of highly successful years for AU in the late 1980s; four seasons in which the Tigers were able to surpass the nine-win benchmark each year and qualify for two New Year’s Six bowls during that timespan. Slack surpassed 2,000 yards in his first year starting under center for Pat Dye in 1988 and was a 12th-round NFL draft pick back when the event was seemingly endless.

Another fun Slack fact: the quarterback played for the Birmingham Barracudas, a CFL team that was in the Magic City for a single season. The Barracudas were no Birmingham Stallions, needless to say.

Slack bounced around the CFL and other various lower-level pro football leagues after three years with the Houston Oilers. While he is merely a trivia question to NFL fans, he will forever be remembered as a winner under center during one of the greatest eras of Auburn Tigers football.
