Auburn football career passing leader No. 8: Patrick Nix

  • 4,957 passing yards
  • 31 passing touchdowns
  • 16 interceptions

Patrick Nix and the Auburn family have a complicated relationship at this current juncture in time since all of his Red Devils recruits at Central-Phenix City never seem to choose the Plains. Of course, Nix’s bad blood with AU has plenty to do with how things were handled when his son Bo Nix (more on him later) was QB1 from 2019-2021. Regardless of the relationship Nix has as a high school head coach with the university now, there’s no doubt the Attala, Alabama native had a special relationship with the orange and blue faithful during his four years with the program.

Nix was there for the dying days of the Dye era and the booming beginning of the Terry Bowden era; specifically having a hand in helping Auburn win nine and eight games, respectively, in 1994 and 1995.

Regardless of what happens between Nix and the Tigers in the coming years, and to be fair, it’s certainly easy to believe that Hugh Freeze of all people can rebuild that bridge, Nix was a legendary signal-caller just like his son.
