Auburn football recruiting target Zayden Walker, the brother of 4-star athlete Jalewis Solomon out of Schley County and fourth-year defensive lineman Zykeivous Walker, is a “strong lean” to the Plains according to Garnet and Cocky’s Kevin Miller.

“Solomon is a big-time athlete who has length (6’1″) and good top-end speed to go with fluid, comfortable movements in space,” Miller prefaced before saying, “His brother, 5-star LB/EDGE Zayden Walker, is also a South Carolina football recruiting target. Solomon’s other brother is a defensive tackle at Auburn. With two brothers on the Plains, it seems Walker should be considered a strong lean to Auburn at this point.” As On3’s Joe Spears reports, Georgia, Florida, and FSU are Auburn’s main competitors.

“Georgia was the first school to offer Zayden Walker and the Bulldogs have hosted him several times already,” Spears prefaced before saying, “Walker visited Auburn this month and the schools from the Sunshine State are all making a push to pull Walker out of Georgia.”

Auburn football recruiting target better suited to play LB in college: Analyst

Gamecock Digest’s Evan Crowell believes Walker actually profiles more as a linebacker than a defensive lineman at the collegiate level despite reaching 5-star status at the Class A Division II level in Georgia.

“Schley County uses him as an edge rusher frequently,” Crowell prefaced before saying, “Walker can put his hand in the dirt but can rush as a stand-up lineman and capture the corner with his bend. However, he doesn’t meet the prerequisites to play on the defensive line in college. He profiles as an inside linebacker at the next level and should be a very good one.

“While many recruiting services list him at 6-3, Walker appears closer to 6-1 in person. He has a compact frame at 220 lbs. and utilizes explosive lower-body strength to burst out of his stance.”

The linebacker room was a strength in recent years but has just two 2024 recruits. The 2025 class has just one recruit: defensive lineman Malik Autry out of Opelika.
