The Auburn football program is in the midst of fall camp, preparing to take on the 2023 season under new head coach Hugh Freeze. There is a lot of work to be done for the Tigers, who are learning new schemes and melding together with the new players from high school, junior college, and the transfer portal.

One of the key pieces of the Tigers’ offense this year is expected to be the running backs room, led by Jarquez Hunter, who is expected to have his best season yet after backing up Tank Bigsby for two seasons.

However, after an online situation in May, Hunter and several other athletes were suspended indefinitely, and there was widespread fear that the star running back may have to miss out on the 2023 season. Earlier this week, fans were presented with good news when it was announced that Hunter had returned to and was participating in practice with the rest of the team.

As there is a lot of uncertainty surrounding the program at this point regarding how well the season will go, fans were relieved that one of the best players appears to be prepping for the season.

While Hunter is assumed to be RB1, he is joined by many other capable running backs in the room, including transfer Brian Battie, sophomore Damari Alston, and freshman Jeremiah Cobb, all of whom have received praise during the offseason. Nevertheless, it’s a relief to see Hunter back with the Auburn football team.
