The Auburn football program has had multiple notable commitments during this offseason. Under new head coach Hugh Freeze, the Tigers have once again become competition for the likes of Alabama and Georgia on the recruiting trail, and they hope to land another commit today.
So far, the Tigers have 15 commits in their recruiting class of 2024, which is ranked #16 in the country and #8 in the SEC according to 247 Sports Recruiting Rankings. However, only one of those 15 commits is a defensive lineman.
Auburn football is hoping to add another DL to the ranks today in 4-star TJ Lindsey. A native of Arkansas, the DL transferred to IMG Academy in Florida over the offseason and will finish his high school career in the Sunshine State. Lindsey will make his official commitment decision today and choose between Alabama, Texas, Miami, Texas A&M, and Auburn football.
Lindsey is ranked as the #304 overall prospect and the #34 defensive lineman in the recruiting class of 2024. He is the #45 recruit out of the state of Florida. He officially visited all of his top schools in the month of June except for Alabama.
Though Lindsey was unable to make it to the Plains for Big Cat Weekend last month, he was able to FaceTime with many of the coaches including Hugh Freeze and defensive line coach Jeremy Garrett, demonstrating that he is a true priority for the Tigers.
It is believed that the defensive lineman’s top two schools are Texas and Auburn, but the Tigers hold the lead on both the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine and the 247 Sports Crystal Ball with multiple Auburn predictions. Though anything can happen at decision time, it appears that the Auburn football program is in a good spot to land 4-star defensive lineman TJ Lindsey.
