There are plenty of reasons that one could be worried about Auburn football’s matchup with Cal this weekend. There’s the cross-country travel that covers nearly 2,500 miles, and the 9:30 p.m. central time kick-off that is tied for the latest in Auburn football history.
Head coach Hugh Freeze stated that this weekend would be a challenge for the program, for both the staff and the players, but Tiger fans are flocking to the West Coast in droves to support the team against the Golden Bears.
Despite the worries, most Auburn football fans seem to be confident that the Tigers will pull off a Week 2 victory. Cal running back Jaydn Ott, however, thinks the exact opposite:
Cal RB Jaydn Ott: "There's a lot of focus on the name Auburn. But what I see on film is not really in comparison to what their name is. I just want to get that into my guys' heads that a name doesn't mean anything."

The quote has been called bulletin board material all over the internet, and will perhaps motivate the Tigers even more as they head into unknown territory. Meanwhile, fans on the internet were not hesitant to share their reactions to Ott’s brutal take:
I think this is the definition of bulletin board material in the dictionary. https://t.co/hF3sltYYu6

Auburn fans are interpreting this as trash talk, which it very well might be, but if anything, it’s yet ANOTHER indictment of Bryan Harsin that a team like Cal can watch film of this roster and not be terrified/deeply concerned. Thanks, Bryan! https://t.co/WJXQzWkyRn

The trash talk is heating up between the teams’ fans, heightening the anticipation for Saturday night’s game. Here’s hoping it’s Tigers by 50!
