The bad blood will never subside between Auburn football fans and disgraced former head coach Bryan Harsin. Not until the Boise native and his family stop taking every chance to stir up the pot with Tiger fans, who admittedly throw his name into the fire first whenever a player excels under new head coach Hugh Freeze after never doing so under Harsin.
Against Cal on September 9, Eugene Asante had 12 tackles and a sack in a narrow but historic 14-10 victory at California Memorial Stadium. After the game, Asante revealed that he was on the scout team under Harsin. That prompted a response on Instagram from Dayn Harsin, one of Bryan’s daughters, claiming that Asante asked to be on the scout team.
The result was a continued assault on the financially secure first family of Boise football from Tiger fans.

It wasn’t just Dayn’s post, either, though. Even Bryan’s retweets/reposts were put under a microscope.
Auburn football fans must embrace the positivity of the Hugh Freeze era
The dying days of Harsin’s tenure were toxic, but the sun is now shining on the Plains despite the deep Freeze Auburn football is now experiencing. Hugh Freeze’s arrival has brought the Tigers an elusive non-conference road victory on the West Coast, and Ron Roberts’ implementation as defensive coordinator has overhauled an AU defense that had been less smashmouth in recent seasons since Kevin Steele’s departure.
Things are good now. So why look back at your toxic ex?
As things stand in the SEC, the West may be more open than originally thought. The formerly mighty Crimson Tide and Brian Kelly’s LSU Tigers look vulnerable, meaning Georgia may be the only guaranteed loss on this schedule; and can we even guarantee losses against Freeze and Co. yet? That puts AU in the best position to win the SEC West, by far, than they’ve ever been in the NIL era. Wildly enough, Ole Miss may be their biggest challenge based on what we’ve seen so far.
Think of the good times that are about to happen, and think less of Harsin. It’ll do your mental wonders.
