Auburn prioritizing potential flip of 4-star from rival
Since arriving on the Plains last December, Auburn football head coach Hugh Freeze and his staff have shown that they mean business on the recruiting trail. The Tigers have 18 commits in their recruiting class of 2024, many of whom committed over the summer, and are hoping to grow that number as the season goes on.
The headline achievements for the recruiting staff so far have been major flips— that of 5-star wide receiver Perry Thompson, who flipped from Alabama, and 5-star linebacker Demarcus Riddick, who flipped from Georgia. The staff have already managed some big flips, but they’ll be trying to pull off more before it’s all said and done.
One of the prospects the Tigers are pushing hard to flip is 4-star defensive lineman Jeremiah Beaman, who is currently committed to Alabama. However, Hugh Freeze, director of recruiting relations Trovon Reed, and defensive line coach Jeremy Garrett are in constant communication with the lineman, according to Auburn Rivals, and have made Beaman feel like a top priority:
"“They’re just telling me they need me and they want me there,” Beaman said. “They’re making me a priority.”"
Beaman said the effort and communication from the coaches has pushed him to want to take an official visit to the Plains, and he will do just that on the weekend of September 30, when Auburn football will host the Georgia Bulldogs in Jordan-Hare Stadium. He also said he believes the trip is “gonna be amazing” and noted that he expects the staff to push him hard to flip.
From Birmingham, AL, Beaman is ranked as the #71 overall prospect and the #12 DL in the recruiting class of 2024. He is the #8 player in the state of Alabama. He visited Alabama last weekend for the Texas game, and will be visiting Colorado right before his trip to Auburn.
