It’s a big week for the Auburn football program. This weekend, the Tigers will roll into College Station to face off against their first SEC opponent of the season, the Texas A&M Aggies. Of course, there won’t be the same level of excitement surrounding this game as there was for last year’s matchup with the Aggies, but it will be a big test for the Tigers.

Heading into SEC play with a 3-0 record is certainly something for head coach Hugh Freeze and his team to be proud of, and it provides the players with some momentum as they head into a grueling stretch of games.

Both the coaches and the players know this game will be a challenge, but it is one they have accepted and are looking forward to, per The Opelika-Auburn News:

"“SEC play is different,” Auburn tight end Brandon Frazier said Monday. “It’s a grind every week. If you’re not ready to put your best foot forward, it can go bad pretty quick. I think that we’re excited for SEC play. We’re 3-0 for the first time since I’ve been here, I think. A lot of guys are excited.”"

Freeze mentioned earlier this week that with all the injuries the squad is dealing with some of the younger players will have to be “baptized into the SEC.” Though the A&M roster has a lot of talent, the Auburn football players are looking forward to getting out there and showing what they can do:

"“I think we take it and look at it as: ‘This is our chance to do what we do every day at practice,’” Auburn receiver and Texas native Jay Fair said. “I think we’ll take it as an opportunity to put everybody on notice.”"

The Tigers and the Aggies will kick off from College Station at 11:00 a.m. central time this Saturday with the game broadcast on ESPN.
