Auburn football is back in Jordan-Hare Stadium in Week 5 of the 2023 season — looking to rebound following their first loss of the season in their SEC opener against Texas A&M on the road — as the Georgia Bulldogs visit the plains for a 2:30 CST matchup.

There is already a massive rumored list of recruits making the trip for the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry game, including several flip targets; not to mention many recruits yet to commit to a team just yet.

Among them is a recent 4-star Georgia commit who just announced he is no longer committed to the Dawgs.

Auburn football looking to add to 2024 class’s receiving corps

Ny Carr, a 4-star receiver from Moultrie, GA had been recently committed to Georgia for over a year. 247Sports has Carr listed at five-foot-11, 168 lbs, and the 53rd highest-rated prospect in their composite rankings. There have been several talks that Auburn receivers coach, Marcus Davis, and Hugh Freeze are still aggressively pursuing Carr and 5-star receiver/Texas A&M commit Cameron Coleman.

Auburn football fans have been dreaming of one of the two, if not both, joining the 2024 recruiting class. Expect Coleman to take an official visit later in the season. So far, at the receiver position, Auburn has commitments from Perry Thompson, Malcolm Simmons, and Bryce Cain. Defensive back commit, Jalewis Solomon has also stated he wishes to play some receiver as well. However, some fans are questioning whether he will de-commit from the Tigers after recent activity on X.

Auburn will be the first school to host Carr since his decommitment and he is going to experience what should be an aggressively loud atmosphere for the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry. Several other schools such as Florida State and Miami are also pursuing Carr heavily, but Auburn gets their chance this weekend to show what they can do against Carr’s former team.

Future quarterback Walker White will also be in attendance for an official visit, and you can bet White will share his desire to throw touchdowns to Carr.

Freeze’s full attention will be on his current team and executing the game plan to win this weekend. But this is the perfect game for Carr and many others to see firsthand how Auburn football operates on Saturdays and their potential fit playing for the Tigers in the future.
