Ny Carr committed to Miami instead of the Auburn football program on October 8, and Dawgs Daily’s Christian Kirby II revealed a possible reason why Georgia, which Carr originally committed to before flipping to The U, chose the Hurricanes over the Tigers or Bulldogs.

“During Georgia’s matchup with Kentucky this past Saturday, Carr hinted on Twitter (X) as to why he may have de-committed from the Bulldogs,” Kirby prefaced before saying, “In a post that has since been deleted, Carr criticized Georgia for their overuse of the tight end position. He was on an unofficial visit to Miami at the time of the game.”

One of the only positives that came from Bryan Harsin’s tumultuous Plains tenure was the emphasis on the tight end position; which led to John Samuel Shenker having a record-breaking final two seasons. Hugh Freeze is continuing that trend with Rivaldo Fairweather, who is second in receiving yards and touchdowns behind Jay Fair through Week 6 of the 2023 season. Carr might’ve seen the same problem brewing for the Tigers that he saw with the Bulldogs.

Auburn football recruiting miss has upgraded talent level at Miami

While the Tigers won’t land a potential star receiver, something the Auburn football program has lacked since, at minimum, the 2020 season with Seth Williams and Anthony Schwartz, Miami will be upgrading their talent by landing Carr says Canes Warning’s Alan Rubenstein.

“Carr has demonstrated his versatile athleticism competing in basketball and track and field in high school,” Rubenstein prefaced before saying, “The addition of Carr to the other four blue-chip prospects in the last two Miami football classes has significantly upgraded the talent for Miami at WRs.”

Of course, in modern recruiting, Carr’s decision may not be final. He already had Georgia fans thinking he’d be joining a budding dynasty, so why not mess with a Miami fanbase who’s used to the head coach messing with them anyway?
