Though the Auburn football team has been taking plenty of L’s on the field lately, there are definite wins coming in the recruiting category. Most recently, the Tigers earned the commitments of 4-star defensive lineman Jourdin Crawford and 4-star ATH Kendarius Riddick, both in the recruiting class of 2025.

The coaching staff continues to bring in loads of visitors for each of the Tigers’ home matchups as well, and recently hosted 5-star cornerback Na’eem Offord. Ranked as the #7 overall player and the #2 cornerback in the recruiting class of 2025, Offord is also the #2 prospect out of the state of Alabama and is teammates with one Jourdin Crawford.

The coveted cornerback was meant to spend last weekend in Columbus at Ohio State for the Buckeyes’ matchup against the Penn State Nittany Lions but was unable to make his flight because of his high school game, according to Auburn Rivals. Instead, he chose to make his way to the Plains to watch Auburn football take on Ole Miss, a plan that was encouraged by Offord’s teammate and recent Auburn commit, Crawford:

"“Now he’s trying to get me to come with him,” Offord said. “He’s telling me to come be with him. My eyes are open to everything, but it wouldn’t be bad for me and him to be teammates again.”"

Offord went on to say that the atmosphere in Jordan-Hare Stadium on Saturday night was “bigger than football” and he enjoys getting down to Auburn because it opens his eyes a little more each time. Making the Plains his backup plan was a no-brainer for the cornerback.

While Offord does plan to make a trip to Ohio State before all is said and done, he will also return to the Plains next month to watch the Tigers take on the Tide in the Iron Bowl.
