Auburn football’s recruitment of the class of 2024 started off strong and has continued to build momentum throughout the year. Recruiting has been a top priority for head coach Hugh Freeze since he was hired last December, and his work has definitely paid off already.

The Tigers’ recruiting class of 2024 is made up of 17 commits at this point. 10 of them are from Alabama, three are from Florida, and there is one commit from each of the following states: California, Arkansas, Georgia, and Tennessee.

The highest-ranked recruits are 5-star wide receiver Perry Thompson, 4-star linebacker Demarcus Riddick, and 4-star quarterback Walker White. Thompson and Riddick flipped from Alabama and Georgia this summer, and White committed back in February and has been recruiting other prospects to join him on the Plains ever since.

Another one of the earlier commitments made to Auburn football came from Andalusia running back J’Marion “Phat” Burnette. The 4-star committed at the end of March, and has seemingly never wavered. However, earlier today, the RB announced on X, formerly known as Twitter, that his recruitment is 100% open. While some fans were less than pleased, the majority of the feedback was positive:

At the end of the day, nothing is final until the papers are signed in December, but hopefully, Burnette will realize that his best option is to play for Auburn football.
