The Auburn football program is doing a solid job when it comes to recruiting the class of 2024. After struggling in recruiting while Bryan Harsin was at the helm of the program, head coach Hugh Freeze knew it had to be his top priority when he arrived on the Plains.

The Tigers currently have 16 commits in the class of 2024, with flips Perry Thompson and Demarcus Riddick at the top of the rankings followed by quarterback and early commit Walker White, who has taken it upon himself to become a recruiter himself for Auburn football.

Earlier this year, the Tigers earned a commitment from 4-star inside offensive lineman DeAndre Carter out of Mater Dei in Santa Ana, California. Ranked as the #123 overall prospect and the #3 IOL in the recruiting class of 2024, Carter is also the #11 player out of the state of California.

Though he committed to Auburn football over Texas, USC, Michigan State, and others back in September, he continued to be recruited by Texas, and even took an official visit to Austin for the Longhorns’ matchup with Kansas earlier this season.

However, Carter’s final decision is now clear. According to his personal account on X, formerly known as Twitter, he will be staying committed to Freeze and the Tigers:

Keeping Carter on the commit list is a massive deal for the Auburn football staff, who are working hard to make sure that the Tigers have enough talented offensive linemen for the next several years, something Auburn has had a problem with over the past few years.

Carter’s next trip to the Plains will come at the end of the month when he returns to Jordan-Hare Stadium for the Iron Bowl matchup against Alabama.
