Auburn football flipping one of fired Texas A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher’s top 2024 wideout recruit, Cameron Coleman, “seems likely” given his recent crystal ball to the Plains according to Auburn Daily’s Lance Dawe.

“Auburn is right back in contention for five-star wide receiver Cam Coleman,” Dawe prefaced before saying, “Coleman, who committed to Texas A&M back in July, may not be committed to the Aggies much longer with head coach Jimbo Fisher having been fired. It seems likely a flip is coming to the Tigers now that a crystal ball has been submitted.”

As Dawe pointed out, 247Sports’ Bud Elliot submitted a crystal ball projection of Coleman to the Tigers.

Interim Texas A&M head coach could keep Cameron Coleman from Auburn football flip

Rivals’ Mark Passwaters registered a prediction that there won’t be an expected Coleman-to-AU flip after all — crediting interim Texas A&M head coach Elijah Robinson with potentially keeping the Phenix City star in College Station.

“Honestly, it’s very hard to tell right now, considering the uncertainty around the program since Fisher’s firing,” Passwaters prefaced before saying, “But there’s two things that stand out: the lack of decommitments since Jimbo’s firing and the loyalty shown to interim coach Elijah Robinson. If Coleman was going to flip, I figured it would have been last weekend after visiting Florida State. If Robinson sticks around – in any capacity – the majority of the class may remain just because he does.”

How this season ends could go a long way in determining what level of confidence the program could have in Robinson moving forward. Abilene Christian is a tune-up game in Week 12, but facing LSU with a potential eight-win season on the line in Death Valley is a major prove-it game for the interim regime.

Whether Coleman’s decision will be affected by either contest remains to be seen. To many, his heart is already in East Central Alabama.
