Auburn football commit Perry Thompson tweeted “4/5” after the Tigers officially flipped Cam Coleman on December 1, likely indicating that one more recruiting splash will be on the way for the Tigers’ receiving corps.

That No. 5 is presumably Saraland’s Ryan Williams, who many are speculating could re-classify in an announcement he started hyping up shortly after the Coleman flip.

Williams would join Thompson, Coleman, Bryce Cain, and Malcolm Simmons to make quite the fab five if he did in fact join the flip train to the Plains.

Ryan Williams sounds like a man whose heart is with Auburn football

Williams’ post-Iron Bowl reaction definitely didn’t sound like someone who’s ready to R*ll T*de in 2025 (or 2024) and beyond. The Saraland receiver actually sounded like an Auburn fan hiding his pain when discussing the results.

“It was a very exciting game from start to finish,” Williams said of the November 25 Iron Bowl (h/t Rivals). “Had the game on heels. Both sides going back and forth, there wasn’t a dull moment. I was just excited to experience it. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity and I really enjoyed it.”

Williams was excitable when discussing the Tigers on both sides of the ball; proud of the defense and anxious to turn the offense around.

“Their defense played amazing, heads on fire,” Williams prefaced before saying, “The offense, they still gotta get clicking in the pass game, but running the ball and just being a complete offense, they performed really well.”

When revealing the frequency in which AU’s current receiver commits contact him, Williams sounded like someone ready to be a component of something great in East Central Alabama with a fantastic four that has room for one more in the receiving corps.

“I talk to them all the time,” Williams said of the Tigers’ current WR commits. “We talk pretty often, but it would be great having great guys beside me knowing that I won’t get double or triple teamed cause if do, you know what’s gonna happen next, somebody else is gonna score. It would keep defenses honest and I know we would score a lot of points.”

Williams sounds like a future Auburn Tiger from this writer’s vantage point.
