Career Newton’s career is not technically over in 2023, but the NFL may have decided that he is retired before he came to that realization on his own.

Newton’s career is an interesting one because it was defined so much by two great seasons, his rookie year, and 2015.

As a rookie, Newton put up huge numbers, throwing for 4,051 yards, which would hold as his career high, 21 passing touchdowns, 706 rushing yards, and 14 rushing touchdowns. Then in 2015, he led the Panthers to 15-1 with 3,837 passing yards, 35 passing touchdowns, 636 yards on the ground, and 10 rushing TDs. His season ended with a loss in the Super Bowl, 24-10 to the Broncos.
