In this edition of Auburn Tigers news, 5-star Auburn football commit Cam Coleman becomes a state champ and KJ Bolden receives another in-home visit.

When Cam Coleman flipped to the Auburn Tigers from Texas A&M, it was arguably the biggest news of the year. Coleman became the highest-ranked offensive recruit the Tigers have gotten in the modern era, and is the highest-ranked commit in the Tigers’ class of 2024.

Earlier this week, Central-Phenix City won the 7A Alabama state championship game against the four-time defending champions from Thompson. Coleman made the game-winning touchdown that sent the Red Devils to a 21-13 lead over Thompson, a 73-yard touchdown. He was also named MVP of the game.

Auburn football wide receivers coach Marcus Davis was in attendance, and Coleman spoke on how big of a deal it was for Davis to see the game, per Auburn Rivals:

"“It means a lot,” Coleman said. “Playing in front of Coach Davis means a lot. It means he’s giving me his time and effort to come up here and see me play, it means a lot as a player to show that effort.”"

KJ Bolden meets Kirby Smart

With the commitment of Cam Coleman secured, 5-star safety KJ Bolden is probably the most-wanted recruit on the board for the Auburn Tigers. Bolden committed to Florida State back in August, but has still been recruited by teams since then, including Auburn football and Georgia.

Bolden unofficially visited Auburn’s campus earlier this week on Monday, and then head coach Hugh Freeze made an in-home visit to Bolden’s place in Buford, GA, the following Wednesday. The Tigers are just as much in it as anyone else, but it will be tough to keep the Peach State recruit away from UGA.

On Thursday, the 5-star got an in-home visit from Georgia head coach Kirby Smart. Despite Bolden’s commitment to FSU and Auburn’s tireless recruitment, recruiting expert Steve Wiltfong still predicts the safety to end up with the Dawgs.
