The Auburn women's basketball team is entering a new era this year. The program parted ways with Johnnie Harris after four seasons on the Plains and recently brought on Larry Vickers as the new head coach.
During her time with the program, Harris's overall record was 58-63, and the conference record was 18-46. Though it seemed at times like the program was heading in the right direction, with the Tigers making an NCAA Tournament appearance in 2024, the abysmal 2024-25 season was the nail in the coffin for Harris.
On Tuesday morning, the SEC announced each team's conference opponents, including both home and away games. The Tigers will face 16 conference opponents between New Year's Day and March 1. Below is a full list of the Auburn women's basketball SEC opponents, divided into home and away games.
HOME
Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Tennessee
AWAY
Arkansas, Florida, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Missouri, Texas, Texas A&M and Vanderbilt
Florida is the only team that the Tigers will face twice, so in his first year on the Plains, Larry Vickers will play Alabama only once. The only conference opponents that Johnnie Harris's team was able to beat last season were Missouri, Florida, and Texas A&M, all of whom were played in Neville Arena.
With a new head coach on board and a fresh start for the Auburn women's basketball program, there is hope that the Tigers can improve significantly this season and start working their way back up to a competitive program.
