It's commitment season, and football fans all over the country are looking to the 247 Sports Crystal Ball Predictions to get intel on where all the top players are going. One of those players is getting close to decision time, and the predictions are looking good for the Auburn Tigers.
4-star edge rusher James Pace III is set to announce his commitment tomorrow evening, and he could very well be the next player to join ranks with head coach Alex Golesh and the Auburn Tigers football team. 247 Sports National Recruiting Analyst Brian Dohn seems to think so, logging a prediction in late May for Pace to select the Tigers.
From Hyattsville, Maryland, Pace is ranked as the No. 16 edge in the class of 2027 and the No. 4 recruit out of his home state. With nearly 30 offers under his belt, the DeMatha Catholic product will be choosing between his top three schools: Auburn, Tennessee and Colorado.
Pace took official visits to all three schools in the early summer, but the Tigers hosted him first in late May and had the opportunity to set the tone for his recruitment, led by Auburn edges coach Coleman Hutzler.
It's also of note that the Tigers have developed a strong recruiting pipeline out of the state of Maryland over the last few years, adding three players from the state to the class of 2025 and one in the class of 2026. Pace's high school teammate, safety Knyair Crumb, is also the most recent commitment to Auburn, which could help sway the edge rusher towards the Plains.
When is James Pace III's decision date?
4-star edge rusher James Pace III is set to commit to Auburn, Tennessee or Colorado on June 19. If he commits to the Tigers, he will be the 20th commit to Auburn's class of 2027, whcih is currently ranked No. 14 overall and No. 6 in the SEC.
